VALDOSTA, Ga. - The 2011 football matchup between Newberry College and Valdosta State University will be regionally televised as part of the Gulf South Conference's GSC-TV Game of the Week series. The game will now be played on Thursday, September 8, at 7 p.m. to accomodate the broadcast.

This will be the Wolves' first televised game since the 2006 Bronze Derby game against Presbyterian was broadcast on SC-ETV. Newberry previously appeared on CSS in 2005 in games against Carson-Newman, Presbyterian and Wingate.

The GSC-TV Game of the Week is available on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) in Newberry, which is channel 51 on Comcast cable in Newberry. The GSC-TV package is also available on other cable systems throughout the South, listed here.

The Wolves and Blazers are squaring off for the fourth consecutive season, with VSU holding a 2-1 advantage in the series. This is the second game of the series to be played at Valdosta's Bazemore-Hyder Stadium, with Newberry winning the previous meeting in the 2009 season opener, 31-24.
