EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada - Former Newberry College wide receiver Kelton Tindal learned two weeks ago he had been waived by the NFL's Minnesota Vikings following organized team activities, but did not wait long to get back on the field. He is now in training camp with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.
He joined the Eskimos' training camp on Monday and will have to learn and adjust to the Canadian game quickly as Edmonton's first preseason game against the Calgary Stampeders is on Sunday.
“I'm getting to know the plays a little bit, I'm studying hard and asking coaches about plays,” said Tindal in an interview with the Edmonton Sun's Gerry Moddejonge. “But so far, I'm relaxing.”
Tindal is currently wearing the number 33 and is listed as third on the depth chart in one of the slot back positions, but is expected to climb up the chart as he becomes accustomed to the CFL game.
