Josh Stepp named head football coach at Dreher High School

COLUMBIA, S.C. - According to reports from WLTX.com, Newberry College football alumnus Josh Stepp has been named the new head football coach at Dreher High School.

"Dreher principal Jeanne Stiglbauer said Tuesday they're very excited to have hired Stepp as the new coach of the Blue Devils. He spent a year as an assistant coach at Pelion, and a year at Blythewood High. Last season he was offensive coordinator at Spring Valley. Stepp's Blue Devils have already started their off-season workouts and will begin spring practice in early May."

Stepp was an All-America and all-region selection and South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year as he led the Indians to their first-ever NCAA playoff appearance in 2006. He is Newberry's all-time leader in passing yardage, touchdowns, completions and attempts.
