LIBERTY, Mo. - The Newberry College football team is ranked in this week's Media Poll, dropping two spots to No. 22 following Saturday's 34-23 loss to Division I-FCS Austin Peay. This is the second consecutive week Newberry is ranked in the poll.

Newberry (1-1) was rewarded for its tough scheduling and is one of two South Atlantic Conference teams in the Top 25. Catawba College is ranked 12th after opening the season with wins over St. Augustine's and Fayetteville State.

Elsewhere in Super Region Two, the Gulf South Conference has three teams in the poll (No. 3 North Alabama, No. 11 Delta State and No. 14 Valdosta State) and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has two teams listed in the poll (No. 24 Tuskegee and No. 25 Albany State).

Newberry has the week off this week before its home opener on Saturday, September 19. The scarlet and gray will host the Bulldogs of Cumberland (Tenn.) University at 7 p.m. at Setzler Field. Media Poll
