NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College Sports Information department is pleased to offer the next installment of the Newberry Sports Update on YouTube following the third and final preseason scrimmage. Head coach Todd Knight breaks down the scrimmage in the interview. We will have interviews with four players available on Thursday.

The format of the scrimmage changed from the previous offense versus defense format to a preliminary travel squad versus scout team format. Highlights from the scrimmage included a 3-yard touchdown on a quarterback keeper by Brandon Gantt (Lexington, S.C.) on the scrimmage's first drive. Dej'Jon Lee (Lake City, S.C.) came up with an interception on the next drve and returned it 34 yards to set up an 8-yard touchdown carry by S.J. Worrell (Madison, Ga.) on the offense's first play.

Other big offensive plays included a 45-yard touchdown pass from Bryan Ehrlich (San Antonio, Texas) to Kelton Tindal (Sumter, S.C.) and 52-yard carry by Lyndon Ingram (Columbia, S.C.). That drive stalled however, and scout team member Adrian Stewart (North Charleston, S.C.) blocked the field goal attempt. Taniel Massey (Lancaster, S.C.) engineered a touchdown drive at quarterback with a 29-yard pass to Brian Leneau (Sumter, S.C.) and punching in the score on a 21-yard touchdown pass to B.J. Blanding (Pendleton, S.C.).

The scout team did produce one score as freshman quarterback Parker Hite (Ninety Six, S.C.) scampered 70 yards for a touchdown on a zone read play.
