Indians up one spot to No. 19 in D2Football.com poll

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College Indians are ranked 19th nationally in the latest D2Football.com media poll, which was released today. The ranking is one spot higher than last week.

Newberry (8-2 overall, 4-2 SAC) wrapped up its South Atlantic Conference slate last week with a 24-0 whitewash of Lenoir-Rhyne to win the Bishops Trophy for the second straight year.

The top of the NCAA Southeast Region rankings are mirrored in the eighth, ninth and 10th positions with Valdosta State, North Alabama and Delta State, respectively.

SAC rival Carson-Newman is ranked 11th, while Catawba is 15th.

The Indians put the finishing touches on the regular season against Brevard on Saturday. Kickoff for Senior Night is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Setzler Field.
