Newberry moves to 11th in NCAA Southeast Region rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Newberry College football team has moved up one spot to 11th place in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, which were released today.

Newberry (5-2, 1-2 South Atlantic Conference) moves up one spot from 12th after a 48-24 Homecoming win over Mars Hill, which dropped from the rankings.

This week, Newberry will face off against Wingate University, which is ranked sixth in the region in this week's rankings.

Other South Atlantic Conference members in the top 12 are Catawba (7-0) at fourth, and 6-1 Carson-Newman in fifth.

The Indians will look to even their SAC record and improve their NCAA Southeast Region playoff hopes next Saturday at Wingate University. Kickoff at Irwin Belk Stadium and John R. Martin Field in Wingate, N.C., is slated for 1:30 p.m. The game will be available for viewing on the NCAA's Division II webstream at .
