NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College football team is ranked 22nd in the latest D2Football.com Media Poll, which was released today.

The Indians (4-2, 0-2 South Atlantic Conference) have suffered two consecutive road defeats, the latest coming at Catawba, 28-18, last Saturday. However, they remain in the Top 25 in the D2Football.com poll. The highest the Indians have been ranked in the poll was 10th two weeks ago.

Fellow SAC competitors Carson-Newman (10th) and Catawba (12th) are ranked in the poll.

Newberry has been ranked in the Top 25 of the poll every week this season, marking the longest ranked run in the polls by an Indian team.

Newberry will look for its first SAC win of 2007 on Homecoming night against Mars Hill. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday at Setzler Field.
