Indians at No. 19 spot in AFCA Coaches' Poll

WACO, Texas - The Newberry College Indians are ranked 19th nationally in this week's American Football Coaches' Association Division II Coaches' Poll, which was released this morning.

Newberry (4-1, 0-1 SAC) fell 10 spots following a 49-19 loss to 7th-ranked Carson-Newman on September 29. Carson-Newman remains at the No. 7 spot in the poll.

This week's opponent, the Catawba College Indians, are ranked 13th, a rise of one spot following a 45-21 win over then-23rd Mars Hill. The Lions dropped from the poll, but received 11 votes.

Wingate remains in the poll following a 31-28 loss at Tusculum. The Bulldogs fell from 18th to 23rd.

Newberry is currently in preparations for its second straight Top 25 clash. Kickoff at Shuford Stadium in Salisbury, N.C., is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday.
