Indians ranked 17th in D2Football.com poll

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College Indians are ranked 17th nationally in the latest D2Football.com media poll, which was released today.

Newberry (4-1, 0-1 SAC) lost its South Atlantic Conference opener to the Carson-Newman Eagles, 49-19, on September 29. The Eagles are ranked 10th in this week's poll, while the Indians dropped seven positions following the defeat.

Catawba College is ranked 13th in the poll, setting up a second consecutive Top 25 duel for Newberry. The two teams will face off at Shuford Stadium in Salisbury, N.C., at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Wingate and Mars Hill both dropped from the Top 25 following SAC-opening losses.
