Newberry ranked No. 11 in latest D2Football.com poll

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College Indians are ranked 11th in this week's edition of the D2Football.com media poll, which was released this morning. The team rose one sport following Thursday's 39-20 win over North Greenville.

Newberry College has the highest ranking of any South Atlantic Conference school and is the highest ranked private institution in the poll.

SAC rival Carson-Newman is close behind Newberry in the 12th spot, while Catawba is in 16th and Wingate is in 23rd.

Newberry is fourth-highest ranked team in the Southeast Region behind North Alabama (3rd), Valdosta State (6th) and Delta State (7th).

The Indians look to round out the non-conference schedule at 4-0 when they host West Georgia on Saturday. Kickoff for the "Weekend of Champions" game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Setzler Field.
