Football earns No. 12 spot in D2Football.com poll

NEWBERRY, S.C. - Following a 41-7 defeat of the Bowie State Bulldogs last Saturday, the Newberry College Indians have risen two spots to No. 12 in the D2Football.com media poll, which was released this morning.

The Indians (2-0) jumped past Northwood University (Mich.) and Bloomsburg University (Pa.) for the current spot.

Newberry continues to be the highest-ranked team in the South Atlantic Conference, with Carson-Newman close behind at 14th and Catawba coming in at 18th. Newberry College is also the highest-ranked private institution in the poll.

The Indians look for their second consecutive 3-0 start to a season on Thursday night, as they take on the North Greenville University Crusaders in a primetime battle. Kickoff at Younts Stadium in Tigerville is slated for 7:07 p.m.
