Tindal Grabs Two Touchdown in Annual Spring Game

NEWBERRY, S.C. The Newberry College football team completed their spring practice on Saturday with the annual Spring Game.  The White team (offense) scored two touchdowns on the day and converted one field goal.  The Red team (defense) also scored a touchdown with an interception return.

The duo of quarterback Eric McCollom and wide receiver Kelton Tindal hooked up twice for two passing scores, the first coming off a 17-yard pass from McCollom to Tindal and the other coming on a 36-yard strike in which Tindal leaped to make the grab in the end zone.

Kicker Britt Blackmon provided the other points for the White team with a 34-yard field goal.

For the defense, Temarcus Thompson sat into coverage and picked off a pass from quarterback Michael Johnson and returned it for a 44-yard interception return for touchdown.

Rasheen Pickney was the leading rusher for the game with 68 yards including a 37-yard scamper.

Defensively for the Indians, Ben Williams recorded 11 tackles to lead the Red Team.  Defensive lineman Derrell Kinard finished with four stops and had 2.5 sacks on the afternoon.  For the game, the Indian defense recorded nine sacks.
