NEWBERRY, S.C. - Newberry College sits atop the NCAA Southeast Region Poll for the third straight week, announced by the NCAA on Monday afternoon.

The Indians (8-0, 4-0 SAC) solidified their top ranking with a 36-24 victory over then second-ranked Wingate on Saturday.  Newberry College is one of only three teams who remain undefeated in the Southeast region.  The others are North Alabama and North Carolina Central, who are second and third, respectively.

The NCAA Regional Ranking is a weekly poll of the top 12 teams in the four different regions in NCAA Division II football.  The top six teams in the last region poll will participate in the NCAA Division II playoffs.  However, earned access to the playoffs can be gained by a conference if a conference representative finishes in the top 10 of the final regional rankings.

Newberry will hit the road to face Tusculum College on Saturday afternoon.  Kickoff is set for 1:30 pm.
