NEWBERRY, S.C. – Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Andy Carter announced on Wednesday that Newberry College will hold an open house at Setzler Field on Monday, August 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is a free event and is open to the public.
Over the summer, Setzler Field went through a phase one renovation process in which a new playing surface known as AstroPlay XPN was installed. AstroPlay XPN is a synthetic grass surface that is filled with rubber and is produced by the company AstroTurf, LLC. Newberry is the only school in the state of South Carolina to have a synthetic playing surface on their home football field.
Athletic administration, coaches, and staff will be on hand to answer any questions that fans may have. Fans will also have the opportunity to tour the new athletic administration offices, which are located in the O.L. Casey Building.
