Tymere Zimmerman named to two All-America teams

LIBERTY, Mo. - Newberry junior wide receiver Tymere Zimmerman (Bennettsville, S.C.) was selected to the D2football.com All-America second team late yesterday evening, marking his second All-America selection this postseason. Website

On Monday, the website CollegeSportsReport.com placed Zimmerman on its All-America fourth team. Website

At the conclusion of the regular season, Zimmerman was selected to the D2football.com All-Southeast Region first team and the Daktronics All-Southeast Region second team.  Zimmerman led the South Atlantic Conference with 59 catches for 609 yards and 10 touchdowns in nine games this season.

Zimmerman will be honored January 19 at the Orangeburg Touchdown Club as a member of its All-State Team.  No team had been selected for several years, but this year Zimmerman and 24 Division I-A and I-AA players were recognized for their achievements.  Zimmerman is the only Division II player on the team.
