Josh Stepp is the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The South Atlantic Conference has announced its Football Players of the Week.  Earning honors for the week ending on October 15 are Newberry quarterback Josh Stepp, Mars Hill defensive lineman Anrae Fevrier and MHC punter Chris Cromer. Stepp was named Offensive Player of the Week, Fevrier Defensive Player of the Week and Cromer was tabbed Special Teams Player of the Week.

Stepp, a 6-1, 185-pound junior from Pelion, S.C., established a new school record and tied a SAC single-game record with six passing touchdowns in Newberry's 43-37 double overtime win at Catawba.  The Furman University transfer accumulated 425 passing yards, the final 25 coming on the winning TD in the second overtime.  He also set a new school record  in a single-game with 483 total offensive yards.

The SAC Football Players of the Week are selected by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.
