PITTSBURG, KAN. - Newberry College wide receiver Tymere Zimmerman (Bennettsville, S.C.) has been named to the Don Hansen Football Gazette Preseason All-America Team.  Zimmerman is one of six South Atlantic Conference players on the list, and the only representative on the offensive side of the ball.

Zimmerman's first two seasons at Newberry have been historic.  The 6'3", 220-pound wideout is only 259 yards away from the career receptions mark at Newberry College.  He already owns the school career receptions and touchdown mark.

His 977 yards and 73 receptions were second most in the SAC last season, and his 10 receiving touchdowns were just two short of the leader.  Zimmerman was a first team All-SAC receiver last season and Don Hansen All-Southeast Region second team member.

Fans and media will have a chance to meet Zimmerman and his teammates Sunday, August 21 at 1 p.m. during Newberry College's media day and fan appreciation day.
