CLINTON, S.C. - Two of Newberry's All-South Atlantic Conference first team selections have made their way onto the Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Southeast Region squad.  Receiver Tymere Zimmerman (Bennettsville, S.C.) and cornerback Jonathan Lyles (Camden, S.C.) were selected to the second and third teams, respectively.

Zimmerman thrived as the #1 option in the Indians' passing game, finishing second in the league in receptions (73), receiving yards (977), and yards per game (88.8).  His ten touchdowns was third in the league.  The 6-3 receiver owns more than half the receiving records at the school, and is on pace to break all records by the end of next season.

Lyles led the conference in interceptions (8) and tallied second in passes defended (20).  The 6-1 back added 21 tackles for the Scarlet and Gray, and forced opponents to rethink throwing in his direction.
