CLINTON, SC – Newberry College offensive lineman Jeremy Durham (Seneca, SC) was rewarded for his efforts and talent by earning a selection to the Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-South Region Third Team, officials for the publication announced today
The 6-2, 275-pound junior started the four non-conference games at right guard, but was moved to center for the seven South Atlantic Conference contests this season. Durham graded at 88 percent on the line this season with 11 pancake blocks and 40 knockdowns. In addition, he did not draw a penalty for the entire season, starting all eleven contests on the offensive line for the Indians, who finished at 1-10 this season.
Durham adds this all-region selection to his selection as an All-South Atlantic Conference First-Team offensive lineman. He was the only member of the Newberry squad to receive an all-region honor.
The Indians begin their 90th season of play this fall, under newly named head coach Zak Willis. Newberry's 2003 football schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
Newberry College is a proud member of the South Atlantic Conference, a league made up of eight colleges and universities in North and South Carolina and Tennessee.
