NEWBERRY – Newberry College Cheer has announced their annual cheer camp slated for Saturday, February 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Mclean Gym.
The Newberry College Cheer Camp is designed to build basic fundamentals of cheerleading in a positive atmosphere. The camp is designed to teach basic motions, jumps, stunting and basic tumbling skills.
The participants will be taught Newberry College cheer routines, which will be performed at halftime of the men’s basketball game. Tumbling and stunting will be incorporated into the itinerary. Basic tumbling and stunting will be taught and spotted safely by members of the Newberry College cheerleading team.
The fee of $30 includes one child admission to the men’s and women’s basketball games that day at Eleazer Arena.

Two cheer and dance competitions have also been announced for Spring of 2017. The Canam College Championships will take place March 17th in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
From April 5th to the 8th, the National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals will take place in Daytona Beach, Fla.
