Bradley and Sneed named CoSIDA Academic All-District

AUSTIN, Texas - The 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Baseball Teams have been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Newberry College's Jojo Bradley and Jeff Sneed have earned Academic All-District honors for the 2016 season.

First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Bradley - a senior outfielder from Spartanburg - earns CoSIDA Academic All-District™ honors for the second consecutive season. The four-year starter is a three-time South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and two-time Division II Athletic Directors' Association Academic Achievement Award honoree. He is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and has been named to the Newberry College Dean's List in every semester eligibile. He was named second team all-SAC and All-SAC Tournament in 2015. He carries a 3.64 grade point average with a business administration major and Spanish minor. 

Bradley hit .296 as a senior, appearing in 50 games with 47 starts, with 53 hits and 39 runs scored. He drove in 35 runs and hit 14 doubles, six triples and a home run with seven stolen bases.

Sneed - a redshirt junior catcher from Cumming, Ga. - earns CoSIDA Academic All-District™ honors for the first time. Sneed - who transferred to Newberry from Luisburg College - has earned Dean's List honors in every semester at both Newberry & Louisburg. He has been named to the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, won the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award and is a Newberry College Student-Athlete Advisory Council member. He has volunteered with the Irmo/Chapin Recreation Commission's "Grasshoppers" therapeutic recreation baseball team and has assisted as an instructor at free baseball camp. Sneed is a member of Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity and Phi Theta Kappa honor society. He has designed publicity materials for the Prosperity City Rescue Squad and was the winner of the "Foxhole" reliability award from his teammates. Sneed carries a 3.90 grade point average with majors in business administration and graphic design. 

Sneed hit .314 in his redshirt junior season and made 52 starts as one of the most reliable and durable catchers in the country. He had 61 hits and 31 runs scored with 34 RBIs. He had eight doubles and three home runs and threw out 17 potential base stealers from behind the plate.
