Wolves in eighth in NCBWA Southeast Region Poll

PEMBROKE, N.C.- The Newberry College baseball team is in the eighth spot this week in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Poll, as announced Monday. 

The Wolves went 3-0 against Trevecca Nazarene in non-conference play this weekend. The team defeated the Trojans by scores of 8-7, 9-0 and 3-2, respectively. 

Lander moved up to the number one spot this week with 106 votes and a 23-6 record. USC Aiken took the second spot with 102 points and a 22-5 record followed by Belmont Abbey who is still in third with 84 points and a 23-5-1 record. Columbus State is also in third with 84 points, Erskine is in fifth with 51 points, Lincoln Memorial is in sixth with 44 points, and Tusuculum is in seventh with 35 points. UNC Pembroke rounds out the ninth spot receiving 27 points while North Greenville takes the tenth spot with 26 points.

Newberry host Georgia College on Tuesday, March 22 at 6 p.m. at the Smith Road Complex.
