HOW IT HAPPENED

The Wolves tacked two runs on the board in the first inning to take an early lead. Smith doubled down the right field line to send Bradley home before Sneed singled to center field scoring Smith.

Newberry and North Greenville both scored three runs each in the second inning. Bradley sent Passerello home off a single through the left side followed by Hyman scoring on Smith’s single to center field. Bradley was pushed to third when Smith singled but then scored on an error by the Crusaders’ center fielder for the third run.

North Greenville’s first run was scored by Nathaniel Maggio when he was sent home from Tony Danvila’s single to left center. Foley George was then sent home when Mitchell Painter singled through the left side. The last run of the inning was scored by Tony Davila because of Josh Black’s single to left center.

The score was stuck at 5-3 in favor of Newberry until the sixth inning when the Crusaders cut the Wolves’s lead to 5-4. Maggio scored the lone run of the inning on Andrew Frazier’s sac fly to center field.
