Wolves rank ninth in latest NCBWA Southeast Region Poll

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Newberry Wolves baseball team fell four spots in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Poll, as announced Monday. 

Newberry fell to the ninth slot in the rankings after climbing to fifth in last week's poll. The Wolves went 1-2 in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament this past weekend, held in Forest City, N.C.

Catawba (38-10) has a firm grasp on the top slot with all 12 first place votes and 120 points. UNC Pembroke (36-12) stays just behind the Indians in second with 102 points.

North Georiga (30-12) jumps Mount Olive (35-14) for the third spot on the chart, receiving 99 points while the Trojans trail with 62.

Columbus State (34-13) sits in fifth while Flagler (32-14), USC Aiken (33-14) and Armstrong State (29-12) are just in front of the Wolves, with only 13 points separating Newberry from sixth place Flagler.
