NEWBERRY - The Newberry College baseball team will have to regroup after suffering a 16-4 defeat by the Lander Bearcats at the Smith Road Complex on Wednesday evening. This will be only the second South Atlantic Conference road series for the Wolves, and they took two games from Lincoln Memorial in Harroagte in the only other road match up back in February.

WHERE: Brevard, N.C. - Gil Coan Field
WHEN: Saturday, March 14, at 1 p.m. and Sunday, March 15, at 1 p.m.
RECORDS: Newberry 12-9, 5-4 SAC and Brevard 10-12, 5-9 SAC
WEATHER:  Saturday - Rain showers early with a high of 70 degrees; Sunday - Partly cloudy, high of 71 degrees with no chance of rain

The Wolves left 13 runners on base Wednesday and went a mere 2-for-16 with runners in scoring position. However, the Wolves are still hitting .303 as a team for the season.

Robert Kosch (Clemson, S.C.) posted a 2-for-2 effort at the plate while scoring two of Newberry's four runs. Albert Baur (Philadelphia, Pa.) tabbed a double and a run batted in while Tommy Passerello (Davenport, Fla.) and Wesley Camp (Pelion, S.C.) picked up the final two hits for the Wolves.

Brevard started off the 2015 season strong winning seven of their first nine games, but have hit a rough patch as they have dropped 10 of their last 13 ball games. In conference play the Tornados have won two conference series as they defeated Coker and Mars Hill but dropped sets to Carson-Newman, Catawba and Wingate.

The Tornados are lead by Hunter Donaldson who is hitting .316 for the season with 24 hits, including four doubles and 11 runs batted in. He also carries a .409 on-base percetage while tallying a 2-1 record on the mound with a 1.39 ERA.
