In between the last meeting with the Bearcats the Wolves picked up non-conference wins against Anderson and a sweep of Davis & Elkins. On Monday Newberry lost 8-5 to the North Greenville Crusaders in Tigerville.

In the last meeting with Lander Kosch and D.J. Martinez (Montpelier, Va.) each picked up a pair of hits as Martinez hit two doubles in the match up. The Wolves left nine runners on base and only picked up one hit in 10 chances with runners in scoring position.

Since Lander and Newberry met last Tuesday the Bearcats have gone on a three game skid as they were swept this past weekend in Savannah, Ga., by the Armstrong State Pirates with scores of 10-6, 2-1 and 4-3.

Right-hander Alex Roberts (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) will get the start on the mound. The senior is 3-0 so far this season with a 4.47 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 19.0 innings pitched. Opponents are batting just .254 against him and have been awarded just five free passes this season.
