Wolves are fourth seed in 2013 Food Lion SAC Tournament

ROCK HILL - The brackets for the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament have officially been released and the Newberry Wolves are the fourth-seeded team in the tournament.

Newberry will play third-seed Tusculum at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in first round action at McNair Field in Forest City, N.C. WKDK-AM 1240 will carry all Newberry SAC Tournament games over the air with an internet simulcast at www.NewberryWolves.com/live.

Newberry finished the regular season with a 27-20 record and 13-12 mark in the South Atlantic Conference. Tusculum is 27-16 overall and 16-11 in league play. The Pioneers took two games of the season series at the Smith Road Complex on March 8-9. TC won the first game 9-7, Newberry won the second game 3-1 and Tusculum won the rubber game 5-3.

Depending on the result of Thursday's game, the Wolves will play again at either 3:45 or 7:30 p.m. Friday.

All session passes for the double elimination tournament are $20 for adults ($18 with a Food Lion MVP card) and $10 for students and children. Single day passes are $8 for adults ($7 with a Food Lion MVP card) and $4 for students and children.
