NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry Wolves got back on the winning track on Tuesday with a 13-inning 6-5 victory over the visiting Erskine Flying Fleet at the Smith Road Complex on Tuesday.

Freshman Wesley Camp (Pelion, S.C.) reached base six times in the game, going 5-for-6 with a walk, three stolen bases and two runs scored. He also allowed one unearned run in 2.1 innings of relief with four strikeouts.
Clay Burgess (Hanahan, S.C.) pitched a perfect top of the 13th inning to earn the victory in his first collegiate pitching appearance. The Wolves used seven pitchers, walking only two batters and striking out 10.

The Wolves started the scoring in the second when McElwee and Kirby scored on a chopper to the pitcher by Hunter Cox (Andrews, S.C.), which the Erskine hurler threw waywards to send the pair of Wolves home.
Erskine scored on three straight RBI singles from Chase Corn, Cameron Yost and Drew Willingham in the top of the third, and Zac McCarthy scored from third on a wild pitch in the fourth to put the Fleet up 4-2.
Camp led off the fifth with a single and a steal, moved to third on a fly out and scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 4-3. In the same inning, Andy Vogel (Marietta, Ga.) reached on a walk and back-to-back doubles by McElwee and Albert Baur (Philadelphia, Pa.) gave Newberry a 5-4 lead. A pair of Newberry errors in the eighth allowed EC's Will Huff to score and tie the game.
After the fifth, Newberry stranded seven runners on base, including leaving the bases loaded in the eighth.
Erskine loaded the bases with one out in the 12th, but Kirby's gun down from right field to home kept the score knotted. However, the Fleet turned an outfield double play of their own in the bottom of the frame.
After Burgess' perfect inning in the top of the 13th, Camp led off with his fifth single, stole second and moved to third on a groundout. Vogel then hit a grounder deep into the hole at shortstop and beat out the throw to give the Wolves the win.
