NEWBERRY, S.C. - Andy Vogel (Marietta, Ga.) drove in five runs and three Newberry College pitchers combined for a shutout as the Wolves blanked the Limestone College Saints, 6-0, at the Smith Road Complex on Wednesday.

Newberry moves to 15-16 overall entering a South Atlantic Conference series with Tusculum this weekend. The first game of the series starts at 6 p.m. Friday at the Smith Road Complex. Limestone falls to 19-11.

Newberry starter Mario Rojas (Miami, Fla.; 2-2) allowed only three hits and four walks in 7.0 innings with solid defense behind him. DJ Hearsey (Oviedo, Fla.) and Kyle Christian (Charleston, S.C.) each pitched a scoreless inning of relief and the Wolves' infield turned three double plays behind them.

Vogel started the scoring with two outs in the second inning as he blasted a two-run homerun over the wall in left field. In the seventh, Chris Love (Columbia, S.C.) led off with a walk and Evan Darr (North Augusta, S.C.) hit a single before Derek Bley (Upper Arlington, Ohio) was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Vogel hit a single up the middle to drive in two runs and Terrance Gray (Newberry, S.C.) hit an RBI single to make it a 5-0 game.

Darr and Bley each drew eighth inning walks and Vogel hit a two-out RBI single to centerfield to wrap up a 3-for-4 day with five RBIs. Darr was 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

Limestone's Thomas Fekete (3-1) was hit with the loss after allowing five runs on five hits in 6.1 innings, striking out seven. The Newberry pitchers walked seven Saints but allowed no extra base hits.
