Mars Hill got on the board in the top of the first after Devin Presnell hit a lead off double and was plated on an RBI single by Adam Lewis. Rusty Smith made it a 2-0 game with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. Dalton Hardee hit a two-out RBI single in the fourth and the Lions scored a pair of runs in the fifth after Newberry committed two errors with two outs to keep the inning going.
