NEWBERRY, S.C. - The 2010 baseball season is rapidly approaching, and it's never too early to start making plans to watch the scarlet and gray in what is a highly anticipated season. Season tickets are on sale now through the Newberry College Athletic Ticket Office.

The season starts on February 2 with a home game against Benedict College followed by a road trip to Florida to play the defending Division II national champions, Lynn University. Twenty-seven additional home games follow the home opener and are highlighted by Division I Gardner-Webb and a competitive South Atlantic Conference schedule.

Once again this year, the season will be filled with many promotions and contests. Blackmon's Diamond in the Rough Night will be held on March 12. All female fans in attendance will have the chance to search the field for a chance to win a diamond. On March 16, the game will feature a St. Patrick's Day theme. One lucky fan sitting in a reserved chair back seat will win a pot of gold. Kids Day will be held in conjunction with the doubleheader on March 27. All children aged 12 and under will be admitted free into the game when accompanied by an adult. After the doubleheader, parents and their children will have the chance to play catch in the outfield.

The Newberry College Athletic Ticket Office is proud to offer a variety of ticket options. 2010 baseball reserved chair back season tickets may be purchased for $100. Also, All Sports Season Passes, which are good for a general admission bleacher or lawn seat, may be purchased for $50. If you have already purchased an All Sports Season Pass, it may be upgraded to a reserved chair back season ticket for only $50. Individual tickets are only available at the gate. All complimentary tickets can be upgraded to a chair back seat for $1 as well.

Fans can purchase 2010 baseball season tickets or all sports passes by calling the Newberry College Athletic Ticket Office at (803) 321-5101 or stopping by the O.L.
