NEWBERRY, S.C. - Newberry College is pleased to announce it will be hosting the third and deciding game of the South Carolina High School League's Class AAA baseball state championship series Friday at the Smith Road Complex. Belton-Honea Path High School, the Upper State champions, will play Camden High School, the Lower State champions, in Game Three of the best-of-three series. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m.
B-HP won the first game in the series, 4-3, while Camden forced the neutral site game with a 6-4 win last night. If Belton-Honea Path wins, it will be the Bears' first state championship since back-to-back wins in 1990 and 1991, while a Camden win would give the Bulldogs their first state title since back-to-back wins in 1988 and 1989.
Belton-Honea Path will be the home team in Friday night's game. For information on tickets for the game, please contact Belton-Honea Path High School.
