CLARKS HILL, S.C. - The Newberry College baseball team participated in a "Boot Camp" style team building on November 3-4, 2007. Forty-nine players and four coaches participated in the exercises led by Lt. Col. Rick Rennenbaum.

The Indians participated in team building exercies that required them to problem solve as a team. They also stayed in the barracks on site, waking up before dawn without the benefit of an alarm. Also amongst the activities were daily physical training, paintball, rappelling and other obstacles.

The events not only required physical challenges, but tested the players' mental resolve and made them think on their feet.

"This was probably the best team buliding weekend I've seen in my 22 years of coaching," said head coach Bob Rikeman. "Our guys handled it extremely well and even set a few records on the obstacle course that the Army guys were very impressed with."
