NEWBERRY, S.C. – Newberry College Baseball head coach Bob Rikeman announced the new crop of players joining the Indian baseball squad for the 2006 season. The 15 players join the retooled baseball squad that looks to strike deep into the heart of postseason play this year.

“I am very excited about adding these talented players to the Newberry Baseball Program,” said Rikeman.  “Thanks to great support from Newberry College and the Athletic Department we were able to move quickly and decisively with our recruiting even though we got a late start.  Our collective goal is to make an immediate impact within the South Atlantic Conference and the Southeast Region.”

Rikeman and an all-new coaching staff will be bringing excitement and success back to Newberry baseball in 2006, building upon a tradition of quality baseball.
