ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman outfielder Adam Kefauver and Newberry pitcher Ernie Castellano have been named the South Atlantic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Castellano, in his first collegiate start, threw a no-hitter against Anderson University for his first decision.  He faced only four batters over the minimum: two walks, a hit batter, and a fielding error.  Castellano struck out three and forced 12 flyouts and six groundouts.  On the season, Castellano has a 1.50 ERA over 12 innings pitched, and is holding opposing batters to a .122 average.

The SAC player and pitcher of the week are selected by the conference’s eight sports information directors.
