Baseball home opener is Sunday
Friday, February 17, 2006 | by Indians will play first two home games

Be a part of Newberry College's 2006 home baseball opener, the first in the Bob Rikeman era, Sunday afternoon at 1 at the Newberry High School baseball field.  The Indians will take on Anderson College in a doubleheader to complete the four-game weekend series.  The first two games will take place in Anderson beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Admission for the doubleheader is a suggested $5 donation per person.  The American Cancer Society will be there to collect and accept 100% of the gate proceeds and profits from sales of Indian baseball merchandise and concessions.

Don't miss your chance to see the Indians play in Newberry, as there are only three total home dates this year.  Next season, the Scarlet and Gray will open up in a new ballpark in the college's new athletic complex on Smith Road.
