ROCK HILL, S.C. - Newberry College outfielders Gilmore Stevens and Stuart Kay were named to the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team, the league announced today.  Newberry was eliminated after three games in the Spring Sports Festival, defeating Lenoir-Rhyne College 14-5, and losing twice to Tusculum College.

Stevens (Edgefield, S.C.) went seven-for-13 from the plate for a .538 batting average, the third-best average in the tournament.  His on-base percentage of .571 tied that of teammate Kay (Greer, S.C.) for third.  Kay's .500 hitting was tied for fourth at the Festival, and eight runs batted in was good for second to Wingate's David Yount, who competed in five games compared to Kay's three.

Kay and Stevens were also named to the 2004 All-SAC second team last Wednesday.
