Quiana Anderson named Miss Newberry College

NEWBERRY, S.C. - Newberry College presented its annual Miss Newberry College Pageant.  Quiana Anderson, a senior from Sumter, S.C., was crowned Miss Newberry College for the 2004-2005 school year. Anderson, along with two other athletically-affiliated student-athletes, made up the final three contestants.

Majoring in communications with a concentration in public relations, Quiana is a very active student on campus. During her four years at Newberry, she has been a Senior Resident Advisor, athletic trainer, Student Ambassador, member of Metoka Galeda and the women’s basketball team, and active in RHA and Student Government.  Additionally, she was crowned the 2004 Homecoming Queen in the fall.  After graduation, Quiana plans to intern with adidas America in hopes of landing a job in their marketing or public relations field.

Participants in the pageant competed in sports wear, evening wear, and an interview segment.  Katie Keisler, a junior from West Columbia, S.C., was the first runner-up and Sydnee Stephens, a freshman from Gaffney, S.C., was second runner-up.
