Rachel Goromonzi

Rachel Goromonzi was added to head coach Hannah Dave's staff in August 2017.

“With Rachel’s playing experience, as well as coaching, she will bring a wealth of knowledge working with our offense,” said Dave. “She compliments my coaching style very well and her visions and goals for the program are phenomenal.”

Goromonzi played for Eastern College Athletic Conference rival Limestone for four seasons, including two as Dave’s teammate with the Saints. Leading the team as captain, she took part in transforming the young program into a nationally-ranked powerhouse.

Within two years of Goromonzi’s arrival, the team had won two conference championships. She holds Limestone records for goals and points in a career and a single season.

As a freshman in 2012, she shattered numerous scoring records (29 points and 12 goals) and made the Synapse All-Rookie Squad. In her second year at Limestone, she donned the tag as the “most decorated player in the history of the program.” Goromonzi became the Saints’ first-ever National Field Hockey Coaches Association First Team All-American and was named Independent Schools Alliance Player of the Year, winning both awards in the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Rachel stems from Harare, Zimbabwe and was a nominee (Bronze winner) for Zimbabwe Sportswoman of the Year in 2013.

She recently obtained her M.B.A. in Management from DeSales University June 2017, where she served as a graduate assistant with the field hockey program for two seasons.

The first game of the 2017-2018 Field Hockey season is Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. at home against Seton Hill.
