Laurie Addison has been involved with cheerleading and gymnastics for over 35 years.
Prior to her arrival at Newberry in the fall of 2016, Laurie served as Presbyterian College's Spirit Coordinator for a decade. She also was the Gymnastics Director at the Clinton YMCA from 1991-1994, where she had many state and national champions.
Laurie has served on the South Carolina State Executive Board for Cheerleading and is also a judge for the SC High School League. She has worked as a camp manager for Varsity Spirit Brands for the last 15 years. She has also judged their national competitions in Orlando.
Laurie has worked with the cheerleaders in two of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parades. She traveled to London, England, to work with the cheerleaders in the 2017 New Year’s Day Parade.
Laurie enjoys spending time with her husband Jamey. They have two children: Jay and Caroline, a freshman cheerleader at Newberry College.
