STUDENT ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Our Goals for SAAC this year consists of: developing a community atmosphere between all student-athletes and non-student athletes, raising over $4000 for Make-a-Wish Foundation, to collaborate with Harvest Hope to run two successful food drives, to organize and run a six-week toy drive for the holiday season and to create and distribute a SAAC newsletter once a month to provide education to the student-athlete population on issues important to their personal development and safety.

Function of the Newberry SAAC 

• Promote communications between student-athletes and the athletic administration
• Disseminate information
• Provide feedback and insight into athletic department issues
• Generate a student-athlete voice within the athletic department during its formulation of policies
• Build a sense of community within the athletic department involving all athletic teams
• Solicit student-athlete responses to proposed conference and NCAA legislation
• Organize community service efforts
• Create a vehicle for student-athlete representation on campus-wide committees
• Promote a positive student-athlete image on campus
