Phillips earns All-SAC Second Team honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Newberry College junior Brittany Phillips has been named to the All-South Atlantic Conference Second Team as a utility player, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Phillips (Pacolet, S.C.) was a mainstay near the top the Newberry lineup, starting in all but one of the Wolves 44 games. The transfer from Spartanburg Methodist finished the season with a .342 batting average and a team-high 29 runs scored.

On the base paths Phillips recorded four stolen bases, and while splitting time between the infield and outfield posted a .910 fielding percentage.

Phillips’ appearance on the All-SAC Second Team marks the 14th season a Newberry softball player has earned All-SAC honors.
